I’ve got a few question for all of us. Have you ever looked at your keyboard lately and i mean really closely at it ? Do you have dirty keys because you ate some food over it or have unidentified stuff between them?

So if you answered yes. When was the last time you cleaned them? never, “yesterday”, or a few months back ? Well if you answer any of those or if you just make up another excuse not to just stop.

Today I’ve written up some simple tips that can get your keyboard looking like new no matter of kind of keyboard/s you have.

Important Note:

Before you start any cleaning be sure that you have unplug your keyboard from the computer or if you’re using a laptop or a netbook make sure you power it down before getting underway.

1. Disinfectant Wipes

Keep some sort of disinfectant wipes handy. Not only can you wipe your keyboard clean, you can use them on your phone, mouse. These wipes are an easy way to keep germs from spreading. This is especially important during flu season especially now in place like Australia (where I live).

2. Using A Vacuum Cleaner

If you have a USB vacuum cleaner, go to town. But for most of us who don’t own on you can easily do the alternative by finding a can of compressed air with an extension nozzle. Just hold your keyboard at a 45 degree angle and spray in short bursts and make sure you have something under your keyboard to catch that dirt or even do it over a bin/trash can.

3. What If You Can’t Find A Compressed Can Of Air

If you can’t find that compressed can of air use scotch tape will work to pick up crumbs in between your keys and if you don’t have any scotch tape handy even the sticky end of a post it note will do the trick.

4. Hairdryer ? Yep it works

This is especially good if you are working from home by just using your hairdryer. On how to do it with a hairdryer just perform the clean the same way you would use a can of compressed air at a 45 degree angle.

5. How to keep it clean

Unless you had fun cleaning your keyboard. How about investing a few dollars on a keyboard keys protector for your keyboard  retailers of computer accessories sell protectors. So how about just pick one up, you just need to find the right one that fits your keyboard.
