Regularly backing up your website no matter what it is (WordPress or not), is one of the most important things you can do to safeguard yourself against losing all your data.

Before you say it won’t happen to you I have to say something will go wrong as we all experience it one or many times before. So in this WordPress Wednesday I’m showcasing 8 plugins options that can help you backup your WordPress based website.

All of these plugins are excellent, not to mention most are free (some are paid options), that will back up all your posts, pages, product descriptions and whatever else you may have on your site but however some plugins will only just backup your database.

1. Updraft Plus

This UpdraftPlus plugin is the free one, as there is a premium version that is available for users who wants more options but this plugin is good for most of us. This plugin simplifies backups and restoration. It’s one of the best and highest ranking and most popular scheduled backup plugin.

The plugin backup your site into the cloud directly to Dropbox, Google Drive, Amazon S3 (or compatible), Rackspace Cloud, DreamObjects, FTP, Openstack Swift, Updraft Vault and email. The paid version also backs up to Microsoft OneDrive, Microsoft Azure, Google Cloud Storage, SFTP, SCP, and WebDAV.

2. BackWPup

BackWPup is another free one that also have an premium version, The backup plugin can be used to save your complete installation including /wp-content/ and push them to an external Backup Service, like Dropbox, S3, FTP and many more.  With a single backup .zip file you are able to easily restore an installation.

3. BlogVault

4. Backup Guard

BackupGuard is the most complete site backup and restore plugin. This plugin offer the easiest way to Backup, Restore and Migrate your website, this plugin allows you to backup and restore your files, database or both.

This plugin can be extremely effective in making your site WordPress site safe all the time. Your backups can be uploaded backups to Dropbox, Google Drive and Amazon S3  saving a lot of time while managing other things.

5. All-in-One WP Migration

This free plugin is mainly for those who wanting to migrate your WordPress website to another place, this plugin will backup the database, media files, plugins and themes with no technical knowledge required.

There is an option to apply an unlimited number of find and replace operations on your database during the export process and the plugin will also fix any serialisation problems that occur during the find/replace operation.

6. WP SuperBackup

With VaultPress you’re protected against hackers, malware, accidental damage, and host outages.
