This is the sixth of my end of year round up of my monthly featured HandPicked Goodies for Designers & Developers, today’s post will be focusing  on all the great fantastic WordPress Plugins that been released through this year. Please note that not every WordPress plugins that got featured on this blog will be featured as the list is huge anyway and for your ease of reading i will be splitting the best of WordPress Plugins both free & premium ones into months… so lets start.

Request Access – Free Plugin

This plugin is intended for WordPress site owners that wants to allow people to sign up for their website in a controlled way. Inside this plugin external users can create accounts which are immediately put into “Pending” state, and while an account is pending, the user in this state can only access content on your website that you designate as “public”.

All existing and future site content is private by default except for the required pages and within the wp dashboard for an admin you can view a list of pending accounts, and then choose to approve or deny their application. As this plugin will logs all admin actions and allows you to control which account types have access to approve and deny pending accounts. Logs are only visible to admins also this plugin does include notification emails to administrators (new registrations) and to external users (approved/denied).

WP Sticky Social – Free Plugin

This plugin will just add sticky bar with social icons to your site, The WP Sticky Social icons are the Zurb Foundation Social Icons Font. In this plugin you can select from 22 icons, set position from top of screen, display sticky bar on right or left side, change text, icon and background color from administration.

WP Author Box Lite – Free Plugin

With WP Author Box Lite you can give identity to your blog posts, pages and custom post types!, The Author Box Lite plugin creates a responsive profile and latest posts box to increase reader engagement and this plugin also automatically add google+ profile authorship.

WPJarvis – Free Plugin

Meet Jarvis, this plugin is your administration assistant as it will help put WordPress at your fingertips via a launchbar interface and all you have to do to start using it is hit the quick key “/”, type in your search (eg, “settings”) and select the page you’re looking for. as it is the fastest way to get from the dashboard to editing your anything on the admin side.

jQueryFacebookWallLight – Free Plugin

The JQueryFacebookWallWPLight  is a light version of jQueryFacebookWallWP  that will build a timeline or wall style post feed on your worpress website post or page with the Facebook account data of your choosing.

The jQueryFacebookWallWP has settings to show events, likes, photos, and albums. It also includes a Facebook style lightbox to browse photo galleries. And best of all, it has user interactions so photos, posts, and comments can be liked or commented on.

Please note that this plugin doesnt have the photos, albums, events and likes and limits the number of posts and comments you can retrieve from facebook to 5 but the paid for version of this plugin does have these features and you can get it here

WP Pay What You Like – $20 Premium Plugin

The WP Pay What You Like plugin is a plugin which allows you to accept custom payments for your downloadable products. This plugin is fully integrated with Stripe, and is easy to be installed by just using a simple shortcode which places the pay-what-you-like form on any post or page. The customers can choose between set price suggestions or enter a custom amount before entering their payment details. Downloads are started automatically when payments are successful.

Visual Columns for WordPress – $8 Premium Plugin

With this plugin it has never been easier to quickly create responsive columns in WordPress, and you do no longer need to mess around with shortcodes. The Visual Columns plugin is a 12-column fluid grid system that easily lets you add columns to your WordPress site. The fluid grid system uses percent instead of pixels for column widths. It ensures proper proportions for key screen resolutions and devices.

FoodPress – $25 Premium Plugin

FoodPress is an easy to use restaurant menu management plugin for WordPress.You can build unlimited food menu items for your restaurant, categorize them by dish type or meal type or build your own custom categories. WooCommerce Simple Auctions – Premium Plugin – $16

WP User Access Notification – Free Plugin

This plugin is very useful as for administrators of WordPress websites and for the users as its sends notifications about successful and failed login actions. If someone wants to hack or bruteforce the passwords of your users or administrator password, you will get full information about the attacker. It will show you IP address, Browser and Location (city and country) of the hacker. If hacker is lucky and he got your password, you will get notification about it. What you need to do, just change the password. Without this plugin hackers can use your accounts for a long time and you will not know about it.
